Dortmund, January 2023 – HAPA Pharm GmbH is expanding its management team: from January 2023, industry pioneer Alexander Rieg will support the internationally active company as Chief Operating Officer.

Alexander Rieg has been an integral part of the medical cannabis industry in Germany for years. Not only is he the founder of `GECA Pharma GmbH’, one of the first companies to import medical cannabis into Germany, but he is also a founding member of the Bundesverband pharmazeutischer Cannabinoidunternehmen e.V. (Federal Association of Pharmaceutical Cannabinoid Companies). The organization is committed to promoting and regulating the medical cannabis industry in Germany. Alexander Rieg was most recently Managing Director at Iuvo Therapeutics Gmbh and works as an independent consultant in the cannabis industry, where he specializes in advising international cannabis production companies. At both GECA and Iuvo, Rieg was responsible for drug wholesale for several years.

With over 20 years of experience in the fields of management and corporate governance, pharmaceutical consultant Alexander Rieg, who is licensed under §75 / 1 AMG, has been active in the medical cannabis industry for many years. Since 2020, Rieg, who holds a degree in medical economics with a specialization in healthcare management, has also worked as an independent consultant for new and established companies in the pharmaceutical and lifescience sectors. Among other things, he advises on regulatory, distribution and market-related issues surrounding medical cannabis. Alexander Rieg was instrumental in the preparations and founding of the German Pharmaceutical Cannabinoid Association (BPC e.V.).

At HAPA, Alexander Rieg will assume the position of Chief Operative Officer. “We are very happy to welcome Alexander Rieg as an enrichment to our team.
